Technical Sessions: Presentation Guidelines and Tips
Presentation Due Date: May 29, 2026
You will have 10 minutes total to present your paper – the suggested breakdown is 8 minutes to present and 2 minutes for questions. Please do not try to present your entire paper. Your goal should be to entice the audience to read your paper – show them just the highlights and avoid going into detail. A good guideline is one slide for every minute or 10 slides in total. Use large readable fonts and do not put too much information on the slides. The session chair will end your presentation if it goes over time, so please make sure your presentation fits the allotted time.
Rapid Fire Sessions: Presentation Guidelines and Tips
Presentation Due Date: May 15, 2026
You will have 3 minutes total to present your paper in the Rapid Fire session in order to pitch your poster such that attendees come and meet you to discuss in more detail at your poster, during the following break period. There is a conference PowerPoint template available on the Presenter Resources page. As you will only have 3 minutes, we suggest a maximum of 3 slides for your presentation providing the key messages from your paper.
Poster Guidelines
Your poster should be put up by 9:00 AM on Tuesday, June 1 – the display boards will be available by 7:00 AM. All posters will remain on display until the end of the Wednesday afternoon break, at which time they must be removed by the presenters. All posters that have not been removed will be taken down and recycled.
Posters should be prepared with maximum dimensions of 1.1 m high by 1.1 m wide. This will ensure that the poster fits on the provided display boards. Push pins will be available to mount posters on the display boards provided. Poster titles should appear at the top of the poster in CAPITAL letters with a minimum 84pt font. If possible use a “sans serif” font such as Arial or Helvetica for all text. Author name(s) and affiliation(s) should appear directly below the title. The minimum recommended font size for all text on the poster is 24pt font to ensure that the poster is readable from a distance of 1.5 m away. The flow of the poster should be from top left to bottom right. Colour can be used for highlighting and to make the poster more attractive.
Posters should cover the key points described in the paper or extended abstract. Remember that posters are visual presentations of the information and as such typically rely on graphs, charts, tables, and pictures to communicate information. Please use text sparingly, and keep in mind that the ideal poster is designed to attract attention, provide a brief overview of the work and initiate discussion. Try to state the main results in six lines or less. Ensure that your poster is laid out logically and preferably not on a series of 8.5” x 11” sheets.
